Author Bio

Tessy has served diverse populations including students with disabilities, behavioral disorders, families, and educators. Her specialty is identifying the underlying problems of why children struggle with learning and working with grade level teams to meet their needs. Treating the whole child and focusing on supportive team members are always a focus. 

The author grew up on a dairy farm where she learned from her parents that life is good work to be done. Tessy is the mother of three adult children and grandmother to eight grands. Writing is a passion. Her stories are sprinkled with resiliency, overcoming obstacles, and an introduction to faith as a way to establish purpose. 

Tessy Baker, Ed.S earned her Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the University of Dayton with a dual degree in School Counseling. Her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University, is where she first started noticing the diversity in how students learn. Tessy has worked in public education for 35 plus years. She currently is a practicing full time School Psychologist and a Special Education Coordinator for a rural public school in southern Ohio.
